Update December 2009. Had a very interesting time in Switzerland, modernized and consolidated their worldwide Intellectual Property operations, travelled a bit, and enjoyed driving on the Autobahn (though my wife didn't appreciate going, shall we just say, very fast - kids thought it was fun). Kids really enjoyed attending the International School of Zug & Lucerne last years, especially the "personal developement week" (one went to Italy, another to Paris). Alstom decided to now go without a patent lawyer in Europe ("patent attorneys" there are not required to be lawyers) and after our oldest daughter Nannette's wedding in San Diego this summer we moved back to Cincinnati where I am currently doing private patent prosecution work while "seeking opportunities." Moving to Switzerland April 7, 2008. After nearly 18 years with GE, I am leaving to be the Chief Patent Counsel at Alstom Power Systems in Baden, Switzerland (near Zurich).
