David's Story
After high school I went to a college in NC (ECU) where I received my bachelor's in 2001.
I couldn't get a job in NC, so I moved back to Freeville where I was the Assistant Manager and later the Store Manager of the Rite Aid in Ithaca. After a few years I moved to the Jersey shore to take care of my grandma. I was an Assistant Manager at a local company for a year before I gave up on retail altogether. For the next 2 years I had a money gig monitoring security systems across the nation. It was completly unfulfilling so when the company merged and gave us a 30% paycut, I left. In July 08, I did my 2nd trip backpacking across Europe. Last year I went for 9 1/2 weeks spanning 5 countries with my little brother. This time I was solo and it only lasted 2 weeks b/c that was all the vacation time that I had:( It consisted mostly of Prague and Spain where I ran with the bulls twice in Pamplona. That was completely nuts. I did things on that trip that most people won't do in an entire lifetime. I loved it!
I am still in Jersey, like my job, and live close enough to check in on my grandma every now and then. That is basically what I have been doing for the past 10 years.
