David's Story
I have been married.to the same lady for over 47 years. My wife and I have two wonderful Sons, two great Daughter-in-laws and four Grandchildren we adore very much. I was the Manager of Plant Operations and Security Manager at Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett. And now I’m retired!
I enjoy spending time with my Family especially on their birthdays or on holidays. I also enjoy camping and deer hunting. Now-a-days I use a camera instead of a rifle to hunt with.
I love to hike in the woods on our property in East Texas. This is where I get away to enjoy some peace and quiet and where I can see God's creation more closely and get more tuned in to His call in my life. Since my retirement we started to build a new home for our retirement on the property in East Texas (Winnsboro), and have completed it and now we are enjoying life in the country.
I’ve been writing a romance novel as well as poetry, devotionals, and poetic stories.
I’m also into the photography of courthouses, old churches, old farm tractors, barns, vintage cars and trucks, and I could go on and on………. and since I have a Flickr account you can find the thousands of photos that I have posted there. You meet some of the nicest people there who share the same p...Expand for more
assion. So look me up if you’re on Flickr. And let me know if we were classmates.
I was diagnosed with leukemia in January of 2014 and have written a 5 year journal about it titled, "Why Not Me!” Talk about inspiring, just writing it has given me more inner strength and has even inspired others along the way. One of them is my oncologist! He says that I have been an inspiration to him and he has just started writing as well. (that was a surprise, and humbling to hear). I finished the first 5 years and had it printed as a book. So if you want to hear more about it just ask. By the way, I'm in remission.
I have been blessed in life with much. I really don’t feel that I deserve any of it but when the Lord provides your needs you have to be thankful and willing to help others with their needs and be a blessing to them.
Hope to see many of you who I have known or knew me since we were students some day. I would love to catch up with you all. I value everyone that I either interacted with in school or who went to the same school, especially those in the same grades that we were in. That includes those who I knew from a distance. Hey…….. we were all at the same school at one point in time; so there’s a connection there.
