David's Story
Life
I have been very busy over the last 40+ years, since high school, with all sorts of activities. I have been involved with High Hopes of NH as President, vice president, and committee person. I was a member of the National Ski Patrol. I was a Certified NH State Track and field & Cross country official working with High Schools across the state. I am a certified Marathon coach for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I teach runners how to complete a full or half marathon. I have run marathons from London, England and Dublin, Ireland to Alaska (3 times), SanDiego, Florida(Disney 3 times), Boston(11 times), Mass (Bay State 4 times), RhodeIsland, Chicago, NY, Washington, DC(4 times), Maine(5 times) and NH(10 times). I have completed over 60+ marathons so far. Besides ...Expand for more
skiing and running, I love to hike. I have been to Colorado backpacking and am looking forward to retirement to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Then onto Europe to hike in the Alps. I have done all the 4,000+ foot mountains in NH.
I have two children (young adults). A daughter who lives in Arlington, Va. with her husband and is a 5th grade teacher. A son who is in Grad school in Connecticut.
My wife and I have been together for 30+ years not counting the five years of dating. We live in Amherst village here in NH. She is employed at Souhegan High School, right here in town. I am a Principal Engineer with BAE SYSTEMS (formerly Sanders Associates and Lockheed Martin). To celebrate my upcoming 60th birthday, I am running a marathon a month for a year.
