P's Story
Life
Born in Illinois, I grew up in various areas such as Illinois, Texas, and California. Married twice. No children by first wife. A son by my second wife. I currently reside in east central Illinois where I have made my home near and around my relatives. I had to roll with the punches in life, but it has taught me some very valuable lessons. I look for the good in everyone, yet the ying/yang that is in everyone is a very tricky thing. I try to learn a little something from everyone I come in contact with, and I have to say that everyone has something to offer wether it be good or bad, and at the judgment hall that rest within us we make our choices. Some have a better counselor than others when it comes to making their decisions. As for me I strive to live and learn, and keep an open mind and a gentle heart.
School
I was shuffeled around to different elementary schools in my early days due to a disfunctional family. I completed grades 6-12 at SanAugustine in Texas. My biggest crush was on Carlene Womack who is unfortunately dec...Expand for more
eased now. My favorite teacher was Mr. Carr, our band director. He directed my lifes path into the Marine Corps., of which he also was a former member. The most fun exciting and challenging days of my school years were in the SanAugustine HighSchool marching band.
Workplace
I work at KRAFT FOODS in Champaign IL. where we make and package all kinds of salad dressings and cheese products. I am currently on 2nd shift 3 to 11. I work as a line operator in the spoonable salad dressings dept.
Military
I joined right out of highschool in Aug. of 75. Vietnam war had ended before then. I can't say everthing was great. All things have their ups and downs, but its the friends and aquaintances you make along the way that make the trip worth while. I went to bootcamp at SanDiego, and from there to Camp Pendelton/ Margarita. From there to Okinawa for 1 year overseas duty, then back to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot where I finished out my service with an Honorable Discharge. California was to say the least, very different than where I grew up.
