David O'Toole:  

Life The then picture I have posted was taken in 7th grade while going to Scarlett Jr. High. The Blonde hair pic was in 1985. As you can see I was following my dream of being a rock star. I was based in Shreveport, Louisiana and played in many bands including Metal Toyz (pictured), Creme Soda, Malpractice, and Drama Club. I played all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. Although I made a decent living, I wanted to get out of the music business and start a family. I tried many times to quit. I would cut my hair and get a job in retail management, but as soon as someone asked me to go back on the road with another band: I would quit my job and go on the road. Finally when I was 29; I decided to give it up for good. In order to succeed at staying out of the business I had to remove myself from the music scene. That is when I decided to move back to Michigan. I moved back to Ann Arbor in 1991. I got back into Retail Management. I was a Manager for Service Merchandise in Ann Arbor. I then transferred to the Toledo, Ohio Store for 1.5 years. Then, I transferred to the Fort Wayne Indiana Store for another 1.5 years. I met my wife who lived in Flint Michigan so I then transferred to the Lansing Store. Service Merchandise was going to close the Lansing store so once again I transferred to the Okemos store. When Service Merchandise decided to close that store: I was married and could not transfer any more. I decided to get out of Retail. I am now a Realtor, Real Estate investor & Mortgage Loan Officer in Davison, MI and love it. I have a 10-year-old stepson (Dalton) and a beautiful 4-year-old girl (Hannah). Oh, and I changed my name from David Stelts to David O'Toole. To make a long story short, my father was adopted by his stepfather; and my real family name is O'Toole.
