David's Story
Updated 2019"
Accomplished most of what I wanted to in life. Overall, life has been pretty good. Have made many mistakes, but oh well. I still live in Delaware - North Wilmington.
Started life in New Castle. Moved to Claymont when I was one year old. Grew up in Claymont. Went to Green Street Elementary, Claymont Middle School and then Claymont High School. Got my Bachelors degree from University of Del..
My first career was as a State Trooper (for 22 years). Then I got my Masters degree from Wilm University. Became a counselor for a year at Connections CSP. And then I started my second career as a Probation Officer (for 11 years). In 2013 I moved to New Mexico and became a Juvenile Probation Officer. Moved back to Delaware in 2015 and became a Constable at Del Tech Stanton Campus for 3 years.
Lastly, in 2018 I became an armed elementary School Constable for Brandywine School District. So now I get to patrol the hallways of the ten elementary schools in the district, including the former Claymont HS - now Claymont Elementary School. I still have my house in New Mexico and plan to spend more time...Expand for more
there when I retire - the Southwest is beautiful.
I've been married twice. No kids. Have had at least 3 dogs for the past 20 years (Huskies, Coonhound, Mutts, Polish Tatra Sheepdogs, Welsh Corgies, a Chewfie, and a Tibetan Mastiff).
I've owned several antique cars - '39 Packard, '32 Packard, '67 Firebird, and a '68 Mustang convertible. Then I got into Harleys - still have my '94 Heritage Special.
Recently (2019) I bought another old car - a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door. Same car that my Grandfather had and then gave to my father. Did my Ancestry Research & my DNA. I traced my ancestors back to Poland, Germany, England, Scotland and Sweden. And I completed my Family Tree.
I also learned the "Secret of Life" along the way. Here it is:
The Secret of Life is - - - There is no secret. This is it. It is what is is. We sleep, we get up, we go to work, we take care of our families, we respect our fellow man, we acknowledge our God, and then we do it all over again the next day. That is it. There is no easy way. There are no shortcuts. That is the "Secret of Life". (Pass it on, if you want)
