Dawn's Story
Life to 2024
Majorette (10th-12th). Went to school year-round to get out early - graduated in Jan. 1975. Worked for a law firm and part-time cocktail waitress in Miami and Ft. Laud. Moved to Atlanta. Worked for another law firm and sold cosmetics. Learned how to play tennis. Became Capt. of my team and won the City Championships (hooked on tennis!) Left there in 1985 and moved to Greenville, SC. Worked for a placement agency and another law firm. Left there and started bartending at Bennigans (had the time of my life!). Stayed there 4 years full-time, then went to work for another law firm and continued to bartend part-time for 2 more years. In the meantime I worked for my boyfriend Lee, now husband, opening a new business and did volunteer work for one of the lawyers who was running for Congress. He won and offered me a job in Wash DC but I didn't go because I got engaged. Quit bartending and went part-time at law firm and began working full-time for our new business (1992). ere married in 1995. Lee has 3 children. We bought a beautiful house on the 15th tee box of a beautiful golf course. Also had a house at Lake Hartwell which is 45 minutes south from Greenville. Moved a few times since then. Have a place in Edisto Beach, SC now instead of Lake Hartwell Still best friends with Bev Criswell and Pat Boller and still keep in touch with a few others (Laurie, Debbie, Cyndi, Joan, Betsy, Teresa, Linda, Flo, the Carols, etc.). In my spare time I continue working (it's my life), play tennis and work-out. Lee's children are now 39+ and we have 10 grands. My parents moved from their Miami home of 30+ years to Boynton Beach and then moved to Easley, SC. Dad passed away in 2022 and mom moved to Greenville. My baby brother, Bruce, lives in Boca Raton and is a stock broker. My sister Amber moved to Greer, SC with her husband Guy (now deceased) and their son, Mike. After all these years I finally cut my hair (over 12") three times and donated it to Locks of Love. 2024 is my 32nd year at Lucas Systems and hope to retire at the end of this year!
