Dawn Kniep:  

Born a fourth generation California Native in Pasadena, California in 1967. My dad reminds me of this regularly; we lived in the Pasadena area until I was about five. <divorce> <new "dad"> We moved to Monrovia and I attended Plymouth Elementary from Kindergarten until fourth grade.<divorce> <new "dad">We moved to Covina and I attended Valencia Elementary for fifth grade. We moved to Northern California, and I attended Lincoln Elementary for sixth grade and Santa Rosa Junior High for seventh grade. See a pattern?? Moved again...to Sebastopol California where I attended Willowside Middle School for 8th grade and El Molino High for my freshman year and half of sophomore. I use the term "attended" loosely, our nomadic lifestyle multiple step-fathers had left me a little lost. <separation> My non-step father moved to Hawaiii at this time, so I was able to visit him in the summers. These were some of the best memories and times of my life. I still feel a true connection to Hawaii and the culture. Ohana has defined my life... Another move...this time to Central California (Turlock) where I finished my sophomore year at Denair High School. It was here I was also "found." I know God saved my life in those six months and changed my life's path forever. <reunion w/dad #3>Moved again...shocked? We headed back south and I finished High School at Montclair High. After graduation, my Mother and her husband at the time with my little brother in tow, moved to Wichita, Kansas to get involved in ministry at Calvary Chapel of Wichita. This time I said no thank you. I remained in California to obtain my Cosmetology License. I got to spend the next summer working on Catalina Island. Still one of my best life experiences.
