Deann's Story
We lived on Ohio Street, next to one of the Nitti familys. I went to Erie chapel I left school in 1963 and got married had three girls, divorced in 1970. The girls are now grown & have kids of their own. Left chicago in 1980 moved to Starke county Indiana(Knox). I remarried in 1990. His name is JohnTurner from California, he has three boys. We have owned several propertys, just sold farm 2 years ago, as it was to large to take care of, we now live in town (Ihate it) but we have a nice house and live across the street from my youngest daughter. uth Bend Tribune, because It gives me something to do, but this is my last year. The winters are just to much. I enjoy being a grandmother, 7 grandchildren, from 21 years to 15 months.
Yes there would have been things I would have changed about my life, I would have told Miss Cora P. Scotten, where to go when she insisted I go to college. For a school counsler she sure ruined my career life.
And maybe I wouldn't have run so fast or tried so hard to get away from Whippy at the ROTC, activities on friday nights.
Oh well!!! we'll never know what could have been.
