Deanna's Story
After graduation from HSU in 1964, I spent time in Puerto Rico, Eugene , OR and many years in Chico, CA as a faculty wife, mother and clinical lab. tech. Did the "Traveling Technologist" for a while, living in Seattle, Truckee, San Andreas and returned to Eureka in 1991. I now own a small farm between Eureka and Arcata on which I raise alpacas. I'm happy, and reasonably healthy considering how hard I am pushing 70.
While I resented not having more of a social life at the time, I realize how special it was to have a cabin overlooking Mad River on Butler Valley Ranch to spend summers and most weekends.

ooked on books; never got much into TV or sports except swimming and I'm very spoiled to have several private swimming holes to pick from.
Life on a farm can be very dirty, but I clean up pretty well. Mostly, I'm comfortable in jeans and a nice blouse.
My oldest friend is Jane Senter Schussman. We were in school together from 3rd grade to HSU and well as Sunday school and a succession of choirs. We live miles apart now but stay in touch through Facebook.
As of Spring semester 2012 I am back at HSU studying piano and music theory. I'm having a great time with it, but sometimes music theory makes my brain hurt.
