Deb's Story
After leaving Brennan I worked at Canadian Tire downtown on Dougall for a year and then went back to school. After finishing at St. Clair College I worked at the Canadian Consulate on Woodward Ave in Detroit from January 1974 to July 1977. I moved to Toronto in July 1977 and am still here, in Scarborough. I worked for Scotia Macleod (Macleod Young Weir) for a year and then worked in the sales department at CTV Television from September 1977 to December 1988 when my daughter was born. I have lots of wonderful memories from working at CTV, including working the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, and the 1988 Olympics in Calgary...Expand for more
, and attending multiple Grey Cup Games across the country. I didn't get married until 1985 and unfortunately my husband of 29 years passed away in 2014. After staying home after the birth my daughter for a years, I went back to work in April 1992 in sales at Global Television (Canvideo Television Sales), then eventually moved into the print side of the company (Postmedia/National Post) where I remained until I retired in 2014. Prior to Covid-19 I did a fair amount of travelling in Europe and the Caribbean and can't wait to travel overseas again. I've also explored Canada in the last few years--such a beautiful country.
