Deb's Story
Life
I was a stay at home mom and then some medical problems made it hard for me to work outside the home but I had plenty of different jobs before the kids came and a few since they grew up. My life isn't so bad, wish I'd studied instead of partied and gone for a career. I'd love to hear from any of you out there. I have 2 sons, Jason has a B.A. in Writing and Journalism. He works at Stark State College as a writing tutor. He married in Aug, 2002 and his wife was a Vet Tech. Now in 2007 he is divorced and busy having fun, 2011 update: Jason is down to 20 hours a week and living out of town with his girlfriend and their combined 5 cats. Ryan graduated from Akron U (computer science and Japanese). His fiance' graduated from Akron U. also (art and Japanese) She has done caricatures for some nice money at New Years eve parties and such and worked Summers at Geauga Lake doing them too. They both work for Cybergraphix in Nova OH, which in 2009 is becoming a work from home job for them since the boss is moving to PA. but keeping the company going. It was a very cool place to work! Now, in 2009 they just bought a beautiful house in Medina, 2011 update: Ryan and Kari have now been married for a year and are...Expand for more
unemployed but looking. Don't know how MY kids got so smart! This is my 2nd marriage and he is a great guy, 33 years as of Oct. 19, 09. Getting ready to retire the end of Oct. 09 after 43 years from the Timken Company since the bearing factories are shutting down. You guys wouldn't believe it if you saw me, I had to be the skinniest girl at school but when asthma sidelined me and the meds for it got to me. I got FAT. The recent pic of me with my husband was taken after I lost 37 pounds! No grandchildren yet. I have a cat and keep my younger son's cat because his lady is allergic to it. I was so proud of myself, after years of smoking I quit just before my 40th birthday and now here I am 15 years later and just had the lower lobe of my right lung removed because of cancer. 3 weeks later I collapsed the lung and ended up back in the hospital. I will start chemo the beginning of 2010, update 2011: Did well on chemo but now have spots in my skull so I will be having a piece removed for biopsy and see where we go from there. I keep in touch with Peggy Jo Shillig and Brenda Armstrong and occasionally with Sharon Grisak. Hasn't anyone sprung for gold membership yet? Find me on facebook. Email me, Deb
