Debbie's Story
I have recently reconnected with my high school sweetheart of 2+ years, Owen Hayhurst. His little sister Cindy, who was bout 11 or 12 when we were dating, found me on facebbok and told Owen she had found me. We were in touch within the hour of my talk wtih Cindy and have been together ever since. He asked me to marry him within that first week and I said yes. Hey, when you know, you know! We found we both were still very much in love with each other and probably should have done this 35 years ago, but we are making it right now and that is all that matters. He was the absolute most wonderful boyfriend a girl could ever ask for and is still the same loving, wonderful guy - a little older and better, which I would not ever thought possible to be any better! I am so blessed to be back with him and to have him as a part of my life again. I have 2 daughters - Chelsea, age 18 and Alicia, age 30 (OMG, I remember when I used to think that was so old, now I have a child that age...yikes!) and Owen has one daughter, Lea, wh is 27.
I have two beautiful granddaughters, Jordan and Leyna, ages 7 & 9 and Owen has Bella iwho is a year and a half. I have recently closed on a house in Leander, just nw of Austin, Texas., .
I am a state investigator and have been working for the state for a total of 16 years. I love my job and my life...all is great!
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my father, because he was always an inspiration to me and always loved me unconditionally..
Things I have received from my children...unconditinal love and trust
If I won $100 million, I'd give 25% of it to my church and various charities, then spend the rest on a home in the country with a big country kitchen with a large island for entertaining family and friends, build my children a home and live my life in peace and just enjoying my life, doing things I've never had a chance to do before.
I met my best friend Shelia in 1977. We worked together and there was just this immediate connection. She has been by my side through thick and thin, happy and sad times, helped me through the loss of my sister and my fa...Expand for more
ther who died one year apart, she has just seemed to ALWAYS be there for me and I can't imagine ever not having her as a part of my life.
My first job was at Connell Chevrolet in Killeen, where I got paid about 6.00 an hour to work in "the cage" as cashier, processing warranty work, etc. What I remember most about it is the owner, Ted Connell. He was one of the most wonderful men I have known. He was always kind and caring with me, more like a second father. He even helped get me my first car..
My first love was a wonderful guy named Owen. We were together for two years in High School. He was a gorgeous, tall, blond with beuatiful blue eyes (he was my Adonis!). He was THE greatest boyfriend. I knew with every word and action that he loved me. We talked about getting married someday, how many kids we would have, etc as most young lovers do. We broke up after high school, not one of those horrible break-ups, in fact, neither of us really could remember why at his point, I guess just to try our wings, but we ALWAYS loved each other...recently, after 35 years, we were reunited by his baby sister who had contacted me on facebook, the love and attraction were still very much there and we have recently decided to get married...to finally fulfill the dream that both of us had those many years ago. We realized that this should have happened once we graduated, but it's never too late. My father, who passed away in 1995, loved Owen so much, I know he would be thrilled to know we have found each other again.
My childhood memories that stick with me most were of my father and I. We had a camper and a boat and were at the lake almost every weekend. Some of the most wonderful and peaceful memories I have are of those times spent with him teaching me to fish, ski etc...but most times just talking to him in such a tranquil setting. I still love boating on the lake and camping, it brings back a flood of memories and good feelings.
I hope my friends from school remember me as outgoing, fun and friendly. I had many wonderful friends, from many different"circles" and walks of life, and they all blessed my life in some way.
