Debbie's Story
Attended Island from about Mid 1974 until 1977. Was a stoner and hung out beside Alameda High with my little click until getting in too much trouble in my soph year. Got me into Island...I guess I was most famous for being Michael Johnson's
girlfriend. He was a native Alameda Kid. Lived on Clinton ave across from the hosp his whole life. He was two years ahead of me. He went to Island from Alameda High with me in 74. I was pregnant at 14, delivered at age 15 while going to Island. I both used to bring my baby...Expand for more

In conclusion, Did not stay in the cycle of Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll. Left Alameda with my still current husband in 1979. ( Not Michael) Have lived a great life, I believe, so far to date :) Only have the one son. Was a foster parent for juvenile justice system several years, created a pilot program. Attended college episodically through my life. (still not done yet) Have been a counselor for 28 years. Currently work in Addiction/substance abuse going into my 9th year now.
