Debbie's Story
Hi to all those I miss seeing from Pius. These past years have been so tough for so many...especially financially. I thank God I have a warm, secure place & I always make sure to give whatever Im able to for those less fortunate.
Another year and I'm still here...that's a lot to be grateful for in & of itself. Had a scare this past summer when I was in the hospital for almost 2 months fighting a MRSA sepsis along with an abcess eating away at my spine at one level. Drs didn't give me much of a chance of pulling thru but here I am...still being referred to as an enigma in medicine! The weeks in 2 hospitals were NOT a fun time but I'm regaining my strength ...slower than I'd like but at least its a steady move forward.
Going on 6 plus years since diagnosed with and living with Stage 4 cancer as I keep trying to get healthy again. Having better financial resources to get there would really help as alternative treatment is all out of pocket & with my multitude of medical problems it takes very deep pockets to do it right.
I'm hoping that one day soon Ill start writing a book about my medical sagas and treatin my cancer alternatively thus far. Im hoping my horrible experiences with the medical community can help others navigate those waters more proactively!
In the mean time Im enjoying every day but very thankful for the time with my family ( my parents r doing well in thie...Expand for more
r late 70's too. I love spending time with my two beautiful daughters whom I happy as can b that they are settling down in the Milwaukee area.
Best of all right now is the love of my life...whom I know loves me as deeply as I do him. A second Tom in my life ironically but this is one who loves me as deeply & completely as I do him so I don't have to worry about him ever leaving me the way the 1st Tom did.
Moved to a more manageable (size wise) apartment in Franklin and still trying to figure out these roads on the south side( anything south of Oklahoma I need to take out my IPhone for directions ; )
I still think a lot & miss my brother Pat who passed away quite awhile ago yet some days it seems like just yesterday.
I hope our next reunion is better than this past one. I'd like to see a reunion with just our class or maybe a reunion with people that were at Pius the same time we were. I saw Mary Passow last summer, Rose Kohnke stayed with me for 2 weeks not long ago & we both went and visited Patrick Rogo at his place of work...Miller Park being a part of the Brewers organization.
If anyone knows of someone who'd b interested in writing my book with me( writing was never my strongest area) please let me know. debtaibl at ymail is the address I look at most often.
Guess that's about it for now. I wish all a Blessed Christmas 2012 & a prosperous, healthy & happy New Year!!!
