Deborah's Story
Life
After graduation, I went on to UTEP for a BBA-Management. In time I got married (SURPRISE), worked in everything you could think of except management, had a wonderful little girl, Rebecca and bought a house. I then got divorced, met someone else, moved out of Texas and had another beautiful little girl, Nia. After 9 years of Indiana life, complete with all the ups and down, I've gotten things pretty much back together: a wonderful husband, a good job, and a place of our own. I'd still love to find out how everyone else between 86 and 88 fared and maybe get together with old friends if they happen to live nearby (within three states). Any reunion news?
School
Looking back through yearbooks, I realized that although I can't remember much before 1987, I wasn't exactly camera shy. I actually found pictures of me besides the yearbook pictures. Band, spelling bees, FFA, Aberdeens. I was around, though in the background, I know that much. I knew about more people than I can remember, and although a few have passed on, I k...Expand for more
now there are many out there. I myself am notorious for falling off the face of the earth. I don't think I'm really remembered, I graduated a year early.
College
I was shoved into university life before I was ready, so I did something I hadn't done before: flunk. Given a new freedom, not being in the strictness of high school it took me longer to get things done than it should have. I don't regret what I did, much of what I have now came from the fact that I partied or was confused most of the time. I had to change majors from Accounting to Management upon the "suggestion" of the Accounting department head - what a blow! But so far I think things have turned out OK.
Workplace
I've been working since the end of 1986 in everything from wholesale to retail, universities to government, legal to medical. I wish for the days when you would stay in one job for the rest of your life, but I'm glad I had the chance to learn from these past jobs. I know I'm making a difference where I am now and wouldn't change it unless I had to.
