Deborah's Story
Well, here it is.... I am not one who likes to talk much about myself. I am results oriented. After having lunch or brunch about it.... Let's just do it! After high school I worked 5 yrs at IRS Data Center, MESC on Woodward, 10 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield on E. Jefferson, then moved to Alabama in 1993. I've been here since! I use to make abstract ceramic home decor and afrocentric artifacts and brought them to AL and sold them at a flea market the 1st 3 years after I moved to AL. I have been a REALTOR since 1996, which I LOVED to do until the economy went sour!
Since 2007 I've been working with an after school program through my church, where I write grants, which I discovered a love for doing that! I've been married to a WONDERFUL man, my husband, my soul mate! We went together for 10 yrs and have been married for 28 years! We have a blended family, his children, my children and one of our own! They are all GROWN and GONE! 27 grands, 3 great-grands and probably more to come!

ill live in the D and I go back to visit as often as possible and in these latter years, back for a lot of funerals from long time friends and family. I still sing (a lot)at church, been singing since Webber Jr High days. I've been sewing in my down time and working occasionally as a substitute teacher in elementary school. Kids are so different now days, most are still good but for others, I have to rest for 2 days after being in the classroom!
I've been in the world of computers since 1969 and stay on top of most new frontiers! I did manage also to get my Asso Degree in Computer Science in 1982 and owned a soul food restaurant called Smoke Shack that was located on Gratiot near 7 mile from 1985-1989. God has been good, through the good, GREAT and hard times down through the years! I enjoy the weather here and it's a great place to raise a family and run your own business! I still have a ZEST and zeal for life and hope that all of you have held on to your zeal! Luv U All and hope that life has treated you well!!
