Debby's Story
Hey there! Thanks for checking up on me! I wish I had some exciting updates to share. But I guess in this economy -- and at this point in our nation's history -- a little constancy and stability are good things. I'm still at Boeing, working in Communications, where I've been for 16+ years. It's a good fit for me, and I'm enjoying it. I didn't set out to be in this line of work, so I think I just got lucky that it found me!
On the personal side, I've been married for seven years, and have two terrific step-children, ages 21 and 17. A weiner-dog and myriad fish complete the family picture. Unfortunately, I had to put my 17-year-old cat Chou Chou...Expand for more
to sleep a couple of weeks ago. She was my first pet, and it was so hard to do -- even though it was time.
I've been continuing my education, too... I just finished a certificate program in Forensics at my alma mater, UW -- indulging what some call my morbid fascination with true crime. I don't think I'm up for getting the 2nd degree I'd need (this time in natural sciences) to make a career change, so this is as far as that'll likely go. My husband and I just finished a series of ballroom dancing lessons, too -- now that was fun! This way when the kids get married (not for several more years, please!) at least we won't look like total dorks.
