Debra's Story
Life
I am married and living in Edmonton. I have 5 children (born in 1970, 1972, 1973, 1979 and 1988)and 4 grandchildren (born 2004, 2007 and 2009).
I got married straight out of high school and had 3 children. A divorce followed in 1976, then a second marriage in 1977 and 2 more children. My husband and I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage this year (Nov 2017) - not bad for a second marriage!!
I have taken some university- U of Waterloo, Queens, and U of Alberta. I am a strong believer in lifelong learning.
My main focus has been working on issues of social and economic justice- particularly for women. Much of this work has been done within the context of my faith community- the United Church of Canada. I have been active in committees in my local congregation, our presbytery, conference and nationally. My politics are well ...Expand for more
to the left. I also have a passion for how we express our beliefs in our worship and liturgies and have worked on issues around just and inclusive language and imagery.
I look forward to connecting again with friends from Paris. My parents still live in Paris. As well as 3 of my children live in Ontario and I get back east to visit periodically.
Update- nov 2014- we have been retired now for a number of years. We both enjoy live theatre and the ballet as well as classic movies. I am still quite involved with a number of church committes, locally as well as nationally. I have enjoyed meeting former Parisians who are now living out here.

2011- We are now retired and love it! We have 4 grandchildren- all of whom live in S Ontario, so we try to get back east at least once a year. Life is good!
