Debra Ann's Story
Debra was born in Seattle, Washington. She moved to Spokane when she was 2 years old. Debra's schools include North Central High School, Linwood Elementary School, Salk Junior High School.
Debra's interests include, crafts, e.g. needlecraft, especially cross stitch, reading, movies and travel.
Debra moved to Australia in 1975. First living in the suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, for 17 years. She moved to a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, in 1992, and continues to live in the suburbs of Sydney.
In 1979, Debra married her first husband, Garry Brown. Sadly Garry died in 1985. Her current partner, Shane Ferris, and Debra have been together since 1990.
Debra has travelled to the USA to visit family and friends several times. She has vacationed in Canada, Europe (especially Italy where she has relatives), India, Malaysia, the Middle East (especially Israel, Palestine and Jordan), and Fiji. There are many places Debra still hopes to visit.

nd secondary schools. During her high school years she was a member of a promotional Girl Scout singing group called 'Dream Patterns'. After moving to Australia she was a Girl Guide leader during her first 11 years..
Debra has worked for many diverse companies and organizations. Shortly after arriving in Australia she took a job with Target Stores (Australian owned but a very similar type of store to those in the USA). In the early 1980s she worked for the Girl Guides of Victoria. Her next position was with the computer company Data General. Debra began working in the national office of the Uniting Church in Australia in the early 1990s. The UCA began in 1977. It joined the Methodist Church, about 3/4 of the Presbyterian Church and most of the Congregationalist Churches in Australia. In 1996, she completed a Bachelor of Theology. From 2004 until 2011 she worked for the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA). Since resigning from the NCCA she has been doing volunteer work from home.
