delle (Sabey)'s Story
WELL, THAT LAST FACTOID PARAGRAPH IS PRETTY OUTDATED MINUS FACTS THAT ARE NON-CHANGING - SO, I STILL AM A LOT LIKE THE DELLE SABEY YOU KNEW IN HIGH SCHOOL, WITH MUCH MORE MATURITY, WISDOM AND SOME REAL TOUGH LIFE EXPERIENCES BUT MORE AWESOME ONES AS WELL. I AM IN MY 34TH YR TEACHING HIGH SCHOOL AT PLAINFIELD CENTRAL - HOW COOL WAS THAT!! AFTER THE MONSTER TORNADO IN 1991, EVERYONE ON EARTH DISCOVERED THIS NICE, QUIET TOWN WITH GREAT SCHOOLS AND WE WENT FROM 3 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, 1 JUNIOR HG AND 1 HIGH SCHOOL (simply "Plainfield High School") to eventually tons of elementary schools, numerous jr highs (as you can see, I totally stopped counting after while) and 4 BIG high schools! after Plainfield South, then North, then East were built, the district and school board, to my delight, named our "original" (and still the best!) the Cheers for the Cheerleaders ;) Love my job, loved and was 100% dedicated wife and mom - and my "husband" of 31 years divorced me last Nov. Hello BLINDSIDE! Heart broken, again - as if losing my son 13 years ago wasn't enough. Was truly on the mend and loving life again the past 7 years, and then he goes and shatters my life, family unit (which I value extremely and still believe in marriage and family totally) but he truly was not a very good husband all along, but I was committed to my vows. But am moving forward as I am one tough cookie. Our son, Booter, is a minor league umpire in Double A. He is a wonderful young man (28) and such a blessing and joy. I am retiring June 2011 - have no idea what I want to do when I grow up, or where I want to live, go, do...but right now, I am taking it one day at a time, busy with my job, friends, family...so, that's it in a nutshell!
