Denise's Story

Life I have been married for 25 years and we have 3 sons ages 29, 28 & 24. We bought a home in La Verne 12 years ago and love it here. Our oldest son Jonathan is divorced and has 2 daughters ages 10 and 8. He is employed at The Gas Company. His passion is basketball, movies and music. We are grandparents and love it. Our 28 year old son, Chistopher, is a custom cabnit maker. He is also training for The Ultimate Fighter. He has a fight in March 2008 for KOTC (King Of The Cage) It will be on Pay Pre View TV. He also has a fight August 14th at San Manuel Casino and it will be on Pay pre View Aug 29th, so if you get a chance go watch him fight or check it out on cable. Christopher is also a very talented artist and does tatooing. He has one daughter 18 months old.. Our youngest son, Matthew, works with his Dad doing road construction and ifinished his 3 year operating course. He will one day take over his Dad's job, so Dad can retire, lol. . Matthews passion is dirt bikes, Helicopters and . I do scrapbooking, a lot of reading, and I hang out with my kids and grandkids alot. I am a big kid just like them, we love to go to amusement parks, the movies, the beach, Irwindale speed way, fishing, Horseback riding, water skiing and camping. We take a vacation to Lake Havasu once a year together and Hawaii once a year. I still see all my friends from high school, their was about 6 of us that hung around together and we are all still best friends. You might remember some of them from Northview a couple of them went to different schools, but was always hanging around our school. Ron Carver, Jennifer Mc Nair, Marilyn Schmitt, William Ehrhard and Joy Robinson and Lori Raleigh, They have been the best friends in the world to me. I have truly been blessed in this life. For those of you that knew my Mom, she is 83 now and doing great. She just retired from Covina Bowl in Sept 2010 after 46 years.. I worked there for 15 years, but I left on medical leave and was never able to return ,because of 2 nck surgerys.. So, I am home just being a bum.... (My actual favorite thing to be HA HA.) Gotta Go, Take care everyone! The Story Wizard From Classmates.com. Someone requested I answer these questions, so here it goes! I hope my old friends remember me as fun and a very loyal friend. I always wanted to be a young Mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a Crazy idea. As it turns out, they were Wrong! And I am very happy with my decision and so are my family and friends. It worked out great for me :) My Favorite way to relax is to take a really warm bubble bath, with candles and a non alcoholic frozen drink. Or I go to the beach that is my serenity. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a diet 7Up, some fun people to work with , and some good music to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My Mom is my hero, she is 84 and still working 3 days a week and she is my best friend! She inspires me everyday not to sweat the small stuff and to be the best person you can be. The people from my past who I'd most like to see again is Marie Johnson, Shirly Nez ,Bobby Thomas, Doug Haught and Jeff Bodet and some friends I had in Gradeschool. I would like to see if they are all doing well.I would also like to sit down and talk with them and talk about old times, we really had alot of fun together. My obsessions are Reality TV, Reality TV and more Reality TV. The phone and my computer! Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? The biggest surprise for me was that I married the person I never thought I would marry and didn't marry the person I thought I would, but God always has a plan for us and he knew what was better for me. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel My kitchen and 2 bathrooms and add on a bigger upstairs and add a balcony off of my room . My dream home would be one that we could build from the ground up with a few acres or of course a beach house lol. But, really to me, home is where you are happy, so it doesn't really matter how big or small your house is as long as you are happy in it. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. I have learned not to worry about the little things in life. They have taught me they are only young once, so live life to the fullest with them, and I did. I have learned to pick your battles and let the rest go. They definitely taught me to feel sorry for my Mom for what I put her through, because it came back around to me Ha Ha.. The best thing I have with my kids is laughter. We laugh together ever...Expand for more
yday and that is priceless. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? I would love to see Mr Lindsey and Mrs Hardwick again, because they were an inspiration to me, They were the kindest, most patient people and I thank them for that. They truly wanted you to succeed in life. I also would like to see Mr. Derosa, because he was a lot of fun, and I have a lot of good memories of him. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10 million of it to different charitys , then spend the rest helping my family and friends and then I would buy a beach house here in Ca and definitely property in Hawaii (My favorite place to be)and some other relestate, remodle my house and travel . To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I would be anywhere with the person I loved, doing anything in the moment. On a island in Hawaii somewhere would be nice LOL My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and boring. I was so completely WRONG! LOL. Working hard? Reveal your career aspirations. I wanted to work wherever I was happy and work around my kid's schedule, because being a Mom was my #1 career. And I totally accomplished that. I worked 15 years at a job, I totally loved.and that totally allowed me to work around my kids. I woke up everyday happy to go to work and I loved the people I worked with..Yes, I know I was lucky, thanks to all my awesome Bosses who allowed me the freedom to accomplish that :) What happened to your first crush? I don't know, because it was in 6th grade. His name is Ricky and I hope he is doing well in life :) My best friend would tell you I'm Crazy(FUN),sensitive, great sense of humor.loyal, loving, spiritual, a great mom, that I am insecure at certain time but very strong at other times. That I wish I could take away other peoples and the worlds troubles and I am giving to a fault sometimes and that I don't take crap off of anyone, and that I am very protective of my family and friends, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as happy go lucky. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style. Hell No (What was I thinking) LOl I don't know if I have style, I just wear whatever I like. What's the weirdest job you ever had? Making radiator filters for motorcycles. The only reason it's weird is, because I hate motorcycles! I share my home with, My Husband, My youngest Son just moved out. And yes, I cried my eyes out.. He made me lauugh everyday and even though he lives real close to me, I miss him.. The house is to quite now... Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. I only have alot of bowling trophies and NO they are not on my mantel.. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? There is alot of things I would do differently, like payed attention more in school, not wasted so much time on people I shouldn't have, and been more independent, but I really do think lifes turns out the way it is supposed to. In 10 years, I hope to be Happy and healthy. Talk about your oldest friend—how you met and why you clicked. Her name is Jenny Mc Nair we met in kindergarten and I pushed her off the bars, so she didn't like me and then we kept seeing each other through the years in classes and we just became best friends, we really had a lot of fun together. We both have the same sense of humor. We got sent to the principles office all the time for getting the giggles in class. We are still friends today :) What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? I'm more quieter then I was in school and of course that I look older and have more weight on me. I'm pushing 50, what do you expect People? LOL My first job was at Tastee Freeze, where I got paid 75 cents to fill up the coke machines with ice and they let me fill the cutomers sodas when they ordered them. . What I remember most about it is, that it was really cool, because I was only in 6th grade, so it gave me a little spending money and I had fun doing it. Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. I have so many great memories there isn't enough room on this page to write them. I will never forget all the friends I made and all the fun we had. We made so many awesome memories. I will never forget the 3 times I fell in love :) I will never forget them and the times we shared together, we had some great times and some not so great times, but it was all part of the journey I am on. Thank you all for being a part of my life either in the past or still. I wish you all, Peace, Love and Happiness, Denise
