Dennis's Story
Life
I graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane in 1975 and married my college sweetheart that same year. Worked as a chemist for five years in Spokane and then went to the University of Washington School of Dentistry. In 1984 moved to Austin,Tx as a General Dentist. My office is downtown and only five blocks from the State Capitol. My wife Jean teaches graduate school in Epidemiology at Texas A & M Health Science Center in College Station where we own a second home..
We have one daughter age 23 that graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina. She is now in the Panama jungle with the Peace Corp serving as an economic extension agent with micro finance ...Expand for more
for a small town of 4000 along the Pan-American highway (more like a dirt road) Both my parents passed away in 1997. My mother taught in Eastmont schools for over 30 years as a third and fourth grade teacher. I have an older brother Daryl who lives in Spokane. We travel to the Pacific Northwest often to visit family.
Update--Jean currently is assistant Dean of Research at the School of Rural Public Health, Texas A&M Health Science Center. Daughter Valerie returned from Spain as a Fulbright Scholar and is currently attending NYU Law in Manhattan as a Root-Tinden-Kern Scholar with the Institute for International Law and Justice. I still practice Dentistry downtown Austin.
