Dennis's Story

I Hope old friends remember me by my innocent shyness, but my willingness to befriend and share laughter with many of my class mates, specifically my senior year. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a strange idea. As it turns out, they were right. Usually when I get frustrated or stressed out, I can always depend on my love for music to comfort and ease my troubled mind I think the wildest thing I ever did in school was act up in Art class. Poor Ms Wylie. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have patience, tolerance, and common sense to be able to deal with the day-to-day. This is going to sound weird, but my hero is Madonna. The reason is she is a stong person, and most of her success is based on her ambitions, intelligence, and resolve. I aspire to that I have lived in several places since High school. After I graduated, I moved out to downtown Corunna. I lived there for 2 years. I then moved to Durand to be closer to work in 1982. In 1986 I moved to Flint . At that time, "the big city life" was intriguing to me. In 1987 I moved downtown Flint where I stayed till 1993. In 1993 I moved to a house near downtown where I stayed till 1997. In 1997 I moved to an apartment still in Flint till 1998. In 1998 I moved to Farmington Hills, again, to be closer to work, but hated t he traffic and busy life , so in 1999 moved back to Flint. In 2001 I moved to Swartz Creek for six years. I loved me life. In 2007, my life would again change and I moved briefly to Lapeer where I once again found employment. After a brief 6 months there, I relocated to Royal Oak for six months before realizing I belonged back in the Flint area. I lived in Flint from 2008 to April of this year. I now am living in Lennon, where again I am close to work. I guess I don't like to drive too much to work after driving 50 miles one way for eleven years lol. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Joy Eilert, because She stood by me no matter what my goals. judgments, and decisions were.. I am not a big Sports fan, but love reality Tv. My favorite shows are American Idol, Desperate Housewives, Survivor, and American Idol. I recentlu took in a homeless cat. I named her Autumn, because she looked like Fall colors, brown and white, She is a very loving species, and deserves to be given that affection back. My obsessions include collecting records. I have over 1000 Cds My biggest surprise in life has been my ability to continue on despite so many setbacks. My proudest moment was graduating from Baker College in 2006 magna cum laude. I never ever in a million years thought I would be able to achieve that goal ...Expand for more
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a deck. My dream home would be isolated out in the country. I would love to see Ms. Wylie again. If nothing more than just to apologize for being such an ass in her class. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1 million of it to my partner, then spend the rest on friends, family and bills. Someday I hope to be truly happy, doing a career that I love , that pays very well, and with someone I truly love. That goal has not yet been realized, but I can only strive for that to yet materialize My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be retired. I was so completely disillusioned. Currently I work in retail, which I just loathe. I am hoping with my degree and education that one day I will soon be working in a prestigious position making lots more money. I cannot even recall who my first crush was, but whomever it was, I have not heard or seen them in many many years, and don't expect that I ever will My best friend would tell you I'm honest, fun and devoted, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as negative, and mean LOL. I have never been one to follow national trends, I have always dressed for comfort and what makes me feel good. The weirdest job I ever had was probably delivering the Detroit Free Press back as a teenager. Talk about your cold mornings; I share my home with a friend, which I find trying. If I had one thing to do over, it would have been to stick with the high paying manufacturing job I once held. If I had not given in to stress back then, I would be very well off today, maybe even able to start thinking about a nice retirement. In 10 years, I hope to be well off. I'm going to get there by making better career decisions. My oldest friend is probably Duane. He's been my friend for 16 years. We clicked because we are so much alike lol. He understands me, and has been t here thorugh all my ups and downs , and has never betrayed our friendship The thing about me that would surprise everyone, will maybe not everyone lol, but most , is that I am gay. It doesn't matter at my age, what people t hink of me in regards to that aspect anymore. The yeither embrace it or the ydon't. I am too old to care anymore lol. Seriously, it is what it is, and the fact that I can say that here, is proof that I am very comfortable in my own skin, and I really don't care what other people think of me, especially classmates that I haven't seen or spoken to in 30 years. My first job was at Dedics, where I got paid 2.30 an hour to wash dishes. What I remember most about it is how I smelled like grease at the end of the night lol.
