Derek's Story
I was born in London, Ontario. In my childhood I moved from Army base to Army base. From Rivers, Manitoba to Soest, Germany and places in between. o Vancouver in 1975 and lived there for a year and then to Winnipeg for a year.
I returned to London in 1977 and have been here ever since. I got a job at Canada Post and worked there for 30 years. I met my wife Debbie in 1986 and we married in 1987. We had two children; a girl and a boy. We were going to celebrate 35 years of marriage this June but she passed away last Christmas. It’s been hard. I am still playing guitar and it’s good therapy.
My memories of BBCI are all good. All the sports events; football, track and field and of course basketball. I loved all the Friday night dances and the great bands from Toronto.
Warm memories of a golden time.
