Devi's Story
Life didn't exactly turn out how I had planned.
THE PLAN:
Go to school and study theatre, move to NYC and do the whole starving actor thing, get my Equity card, win a Tony, eventually (but not before age 25) get married and do the family thing, move back to lovely SoCal and maybe teach HS drama or something.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:
Went to school and studied theatre, met and married my sweet husband at age 20, got sick and stayed sick for 7+ years, dropped out of school because of health problems, gained a lot of weight (thank you, thyroid diseas...Expand for more
e!), and moved back to Happy Valley where I swore I'd never live again.
But you know what? Life is OK. Living in Orem again isn't so bad. It's kind of nice to be close to family again. I have a great little house and my health is slowly improving. I'm a better singer and actor than I used to be and I am crazy in love with my husband of 7 years. Technically I'm a senior in college so it is plausible that I could finish my theatre degree. And like my friend Mr. Lennon once said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
