Michele's Story
After graduating from UCD, I got my teaching credentials, both multiple- and single subject. I enjoyed about ten years of teaching in California Public Schools and then was ready for a new adventure.
For the following ten years, I was a licensed minister and served as a missionary in Ecuador.
My time in Ecuador was rewarding. It is a country rich in diversity, both flora, fauna, climate, and peoples. I enjoyed being able to offer hope to the hopeless and direction for the foundering. Ecuador is a great place to have fun. While I was in Ecuador, I went river rafting for the first time in my life, (I know, hard to believe, huh?) in the Napo River and snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean off of the Galapagos Islands, which comprise part of Ecuador. About once a year, I would get back to the U.S. to visit my family.
In 2009, I returned to the U.S. and the classroom. I took some time to get my MA in Teaching from USC and for seven years, I lived in the Santa Cruz/San Jose, CA area. I enjoyed seeing my family, including sisters, Alice, Leanne, and ...Expand for more
Lynnette, who are the moms of my six favorite children in the world: four nieces and two nephews, or basically the cutest and smartest young adults on the planet. (I do not have any children.)
After surviving cancer and chemotherapy in 2015-2016, I decided to move to Southern California for a new chapter in life. So, in the summer of 2017, I made the trek and have been adjusting to the land of endless summer ever since. I think my time in Ecuador prepared me for the weather and the traffic.
Then, after having basically giving up on love, in 2018, I finally found the right guy moving the right direction at the right time in life to make a lifelong commitment. In November of that year, I married Ramzi, my Greek Lebanese American husband, who is my best friend and lifelong partner in adventures. We currently live in Anaheim, although we are considering making another move and seeking a new adventure sometime in the near future.
