Diane's Story
Life
I'm Diane A (for Allison) Loebell. I've been married to Larry since 1972, and we have lived in Philadelphia most of the past 35 years. I'm a lawyer, specializing in employment law at a large corporation, Unisys Corp, which has its headquarters here. Larry is a writer and a teacher. Some of his plays have been produced in Philadelphia, New York and elsewhere and his writing has been published in various journals and anthologies. Our son, David, is a computer guy-- a software designer -- and works as a supervisor in the IT department at a video retail company. He has been married to Pam for 8 years. They met at Bard College, in upstate New York. Pam has a Master's in Psychology. She works at home and is a wonderful mother to their two beautiful and precocious daughters, Clara and Amelia (Amy). They live about 6 blocks away from us, so we are fortunate to be able to see them often.
My main hobby is my dogs. I'm in a dog training club, and I train my dogs and compete in various obedience events. Larry and I walk them every morning before work, and go for long hike...Expand for more
s on the weekends in Fairmount Park, a huge, beautiful park in Philadelphia, right near where we live. We also attend a lot of theater, music, dance, and other cultural events. We like to travel, and have been to Scotland, England, Israel and the Caribbean recently. We vacation most summers in the Adirondacks, in upstate New York--just beautiful!! Mountains, crystal clear lakes and rivers, hiking, swimming, kayaking. We usually rent a big house for a couple of weeks and take the kids and the grandkids, the dogs and Larry's mom, who is 84. She's the only parent either of us have left at this point. Both of my parents passed away in the past few years and Larry's dad died about 7 years ago.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion in 2007. Larry is coming with me this time, and so is Bev Lampp! Bev and I have been in touch on and off over the years. She is now living in Bethel Connecticut, near some relatives of Larry's, so we have visited a few times in the past few years. She also lived in Colorado for a while, while Larry and I were also living there.
