Diane's Story
Life
It'd be great to get an email so drop me a line at doveuvpeace at yahoo dot com! Check out my facebook and myspace pages for more pictures. It is easier to put them on there than here... (What DID we do before computers and the internet?!)
We are still in Arkansas (27 years as of August 2009!!!) and still have a house full of kids (four at home from 10-17) with one at college and two out and married with kids so I am now a grandmother. Eeeek! The FIVE grandkids range in age from 3 to 7 years.
We stay super busy with all the sports the kids play so don't make it to TX much. Really, really miss the lakes. They aren't the same here.
Our so-called 'ranch' is named Rocky Ridge Ranch. We have a few cows and a small flock of sheep and chickens and an occasional hog project to raise, but mainly woods, rocks and wildlife; lots of deer, wild hogs and a few bears.
Ozark is smaller than Burnet, so not much to do besides sports, so we spend lots of time at the fields and gyms. The kids do everything available except football...Expand for more
(much to Chuck's disappointment since he played and loved it). Samuel plans to play this fall, so we will see how that goes...
Our 17-year-old, Lydia, was my walking/running partner but she started public school in 2007 so now I am falling behind. :) Working out alone is really not a bad thing with my MP3 player loaded up with Newsboys, Relient K, Boston, Foreigner, Journey, REO, etc, with a little George Strait and john Arthur Martinez on the side. Sometimes it's nice to just put the ear buds on and shut everything else out and listen. (Especially when I am listening to my "old crap" as Abigail calls it. LOL)
The last two kids entered public schools in '08 so I am home alone! Started back to college this spring to pursue a teaching degree. I work occasionally, free lancing for different companies and substitute teaching at the different campuses. It is nice to be able to work around my schedule and not punch a time clock every day. :)
Guess that's it for now! Hope to hear from some of y'all! Drop me a line any time!
