Diane's Story
Came out to Colorado in 1972 with Karen Smith '70. We both transferred to the U. of Denver. Met my husband Jim my first week of junior year at U. of Denver, he is still amazing to me! We were married in March 1975. We went back to school to get our MBA's and then Jim went to law school and I worked as a banker in Houston in the late '70's. We moved back to Denver in May 1979 and have lived here ever since. The mountains still take my breath away!
My field has been commercial real estate until I retired in 1993; lending and appraising commercial properties. We have raised four children, 3 boys and one girl. Our oldest son Michael who is a criminal attorney and his wife Athena who is a dietician live right next door to us. The blessed us with our first grandchild March 5, 2009, Athena Cymia Evans. married in July but will still live here. Our third son Daniel is a senior in college in Buffalo NY majoring in accounting and accounting information systems and wants to move somewhere really warm after graduation. He has always worked in the hotel business. Our fourth child Jennifer is only a freshman in high school so we have to stay young! We have always had dogs but our last one past away April 3, 2009 so the house is quiet after 27 years of bow wows.
I am active in the Colorado Assoc. Alum of the Sacred Heart. Most of the gals graduated from Manhattenville or Duchesne but there are a few from Sheridan Road. I work for my husbands law practice when needed. His speciality is estate planning law so his cases are always interesting.
My mom passed away in 1990 a week after our 20th reunion but my Dad lived until Jan. 2008 when he passed away at 90 years of age. My siblings all still live in Chicago.
