Dianne's Story

After graduation I moved to Dallas/Fort Worth TX and lived there from 1974 to 1989. I moved to Florida for a couple of years, and finally settled in the Atlanta area in 1992. I got a late start with having my children. My daughter, Lauren, is now 14 and my son, Taylor, is 11 and they keep me very busy and active. I have worked in many industries, but most have had to do with home building, interior design, textiles and fashion design. I used to draw fashion designs in high school and I sewed all my own clothes and clothes for friends too. I've always loved being creative and I am now a fashion accessories designer with my own company. I have an online boutique where I sell my creations called Mama's Pocketbook (mamaspocketbook.com) and I sell through select boutiques in Michigan, Georgia, Florida and Texas. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Steve Hadaway, only we didn't get married after high school like most HS sweeties, it took us 29 years to reunite and we just recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We are ridiculously happy and he is a wonderful father to my children. We live in Gainesville, GA with our 3 dogs, Beau (Weimeraner), Jack (Black Lab, Sheperd, Pit Bull mix), and Bella, the Queen of t...Expand for more
he World and my baby, (Pekingnese), as well as 2 Leopard Geckos (Gecky and Def) and 2 beta fish (Popeye and Robert). I spend most of my time designing, sewing and writing. While I was a single mom I ran the Single Parents website at About.com for 5 years writing all the articles, resources and maintaining the site and two active forums. I still do some freelance writing and I'm the Chair of the Interview Committee at MakeMinePink.com. I also write articles for our members on effective marketing and SEO techniques, positive thinking, and ecommerce business. I started my business 3 years ago and I've been blessed to have it really take off and do well. I won the MSN Business Breakthrough Challenge Spring 2007 and received a 10K grant to for my business and I've had my products featured in magazines such as Romantic Homes, Victoria, Southern Lady, Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, and other home and craft related publications. It's great fun and very fulfilling to do what I love, playing with fabric, everyday and get to call it work! That's probably way more than any of you cared to know about me, so I will end here. Feel free to contact me or visit my website (you can also contact me through it) and have a beautiful life!
