Dick's Story
Okay guys & gals: After high school, I joined the Air Force (Parent's subtle recommendation). Retired after 20 years in the Security Police, Law Enforcement Specialty Code. Started as a gate guard (had to start somewhere) and moved up to patrolman, Armorer, Assistant Flight Chief, Flight Chief, Crime Prevention Specialist, Anti-Terrorism Specialist, Resources Security Specialist, Personnel Security Specialist, and Information Security Specialist. Geared up for Desert Storm on the second mobility team, but the American Forces swept through so quickly, they canceled our load as we were not needed. Did have to go to Somalia. That was a very depressing place. After I retired from the military, I tried working as an Independent Agent for USPA & IRA (now First Commend). After a year, I decided that was not for me. Selling life insurance and mutual funds for financial assistance seemed to turn too many people off. I learned a lot but decided to share info with people that wanted to hear, not people I had to beg to listen. Was a Child Support Officer for San Bernardino County for a little 10 years and retired from there. ents. No real jobs in the local area, although I did try working for that Department of Human Services for a small time. Decided that was definitely not my cup of tea. Almost retired, but happened into a no stress job at a Sears Hometown Store. Alice (my wife) passed in Nov, 2015. Low time, but started a job as the Postal Manager for Oklahoma State University of Technology in Okmulgee, OK. Worked there for 5 years, then called it quits (unless I find something else tempting.) I remarried to Rebecca Abbott (now Bingman) on Jan 1, 2022. Starting over on so many levels, but pretty much retired now. I'm doing pretty well and having a pretty good time. I have a ski boat (want to trade in for a pontoon), and a Jet ski. I have a 1994 Mustang Cobra and a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT 500 that I enter in car shows. I drive a Ford Raptor, but got a 2001 4x4 Ranger for dirty work so I don't mess the Raptor up too bad. Also have a 2004 Honda Gold Wing (my ever faithful and a 2001 Harley Softail that is fun to tool around on. Living the dream I guess. Just hard to enjoy it all. I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for all he has placed in my charge and depend on his guidance till my time here is done. This is the short story. A lot of middle bits left out
