Dixie's Story
Life
I was married to Tommy George for 17 yrs, then we divorced. I remained single until 2/21/04. My new name is Dixie McConnel. I have 2 boys, Tommy,Jr-30 and Michael-27. I also have inherited a daughter, Heather who is 28 and has 2 children, Tyler-10, and Haley-5. My husband's name is Mac.
Workplace
I am no longer working. I had to quit to take care of some of the legal problems while daddy was in a nursing home. Unfortunately, he passed away Dec 16, 2006. Now mother is not doing too good, so I have to do alot for her. I am hoping to go back to work at least part time in the near future.
Update
Mother passed away Dec. 24, 2007. I just went back to work two weeks ago. I have had a rough year and half. In 13 months, I lost 7 people I was related to. I am trying to put my life back together and function like a normal person,
but it is hard. But, with the Lord's help, I AM going to make it fin...Expand for more

Well alot has happened. I hurt my back while tending to mother before her death. Each year, it just got worse. I finally went to get an MRI and it showed that two of my disc were ruptured and pressing on my spinal cord. They said that without surgery, I would not be able to walk in 6 months! So, I got 3 opinions and they all told me the same think. So, I had the surgery last June 2010. I am still in pain if I do much of anything, but I can walk short distances. So I'm not in a wheelchair. The couldn't undo the damage that had already been done. But now no further damage will be done from that. I got dismissed from the spinal dr July 11.02011. Just have to go to the pain management dr now. Other than that, life is great. My oldest son took a year off work to say home and tend to me, and he did a wonderful job. He is going back to work Monday, July 18,2011 and all in all, we have been so blessed.
