Before graduation, I had enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program for the Marine Corps. In August of ’61, I went to MCRD SD, and came home in July 1965. In 1966, I enrolled at Northrop Institute of Technology to start a 55 year aviation career, starting first as a licensed aircraft mechanic (A&P), and eventually becoming an instructor at the Cessna International Training Academy in Wichita, Kansas. I was later a Cessna Single and Multi-engine Service Rep for Africa and Middle East. While on a trip, I met, and subsequently married, my daughter’s mother in 1979. In 1980, I joined Texas International Airlines (which later became Continental Airlines) as a DC-9 Ground School Instructor.
