Don's Story

Hi ! Thanks for taking the time to see my information. (I'm updating this on 06 September 2008 to reflect my current status.) I cannot believe that 32 years have passed since I graduated from NCS. My current home is now in Chillicothe Ohio. Why? First, I am a Disabled Veteran and have frequent visits to the VA Hospital. I had moved back to Northville New York in 2003 with every intention of staying there. But things changed! I was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio from 1984 to 1986. I got out of the Air Force and joined the Police Department. That job SUCKED................. BIG TIME!!! So I went to work at the Dayton VA Medical Center, and also I became a Fire Fighter/EMT with Dayton. I made friends there that have proven to be "best friends" over the years. I have several health issues now, (including grand-mal seizures which prevents me from having a dri...Expand for more
ver's license any more) and the 2 + hours one way trip to see a physician at the Albany NY VAMC was just too long of a ride!! Here in Chillicothe however, it is only an 8 MINUTE ride!!! Also, I live just off of Bridge Street which is the MAIN business section of the city. I can walk out my front door and within 10 minutes walking max, I can be at over 30 eating establishments. I already mentioned having friends here, and that was another reason why I picked Chillicothe. I still keep in contact with my "Northville Friends", one of who lives just 50 miles from me here!!
