Donald's Story
I was raised in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Our family moved frequently. I went to Central Junior High School and Granite High School until mid-March of my sophomore year, when our family moved into the city near Liberty Park and I transferred to South High School. It was there that I met my lifelong sweetheart Pat Fretwell.
Pat and I were married in late 1971; and we soon left Salt Lake for twenty years during which Pat ran the household, worked, and went to school; and I completed a Navy career. I was trained as a Nuclear Reactor Operator and Electronic Technician and retired as a Nuclear Propulsion Supervisor serving on submarines and other submarine/nuclear power related duties.

apan, Guam, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Western Canada, and many hot days during a very cold war hovering off the coast of some prohibited Soviet waterway or in the middle of a Soviet naval operation.
Our family also traveled extensively. We lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho; San Diego, California; Oakland, California; Vallejo, California; and lastly Honolulu, Hawaii for 12 years. Raising the kids in Hawaii was a dream come true.
After I retired I completed an accounting degree and am now a Senior Financial Examiner for the Utah State Insurance Department, quite a change from running nuclear power plants.
Pat and I will celebrate our 38th anniversary in November 2009. We raised four children; David, Jenny, Benjamin and Andy, and we now have five grandchildren.
