Life
Whelp.. here we are.. over 40 now eh?
LIFE IS A BOX OF 'Don't know what you're gonna get'! I don't subscribe to this, so unfortunately messages aren't received.. I'm on FACEBOOK but prolly won't find me there either unless you are resourceful :)
How life we thought, would be different, somehow... We look like our parents, sometimes act like em too.. but forever we're looking, I speak for myself, for the elusive gold carrot, in this body called life.
Even after the day's strife, must be thankful for sure, for God sent me two wonderful children, that will take me so far.. OK, so I'm published poet since 2004 doesn't mean I have the rhythm n rhyme all the time ALL the time.. LOL ;) ;) So here is one I've published.
La Pursuit of Happiness
Inspiration--godfather, kids and life
To pursue a butterfly
Is to watch it flutter by.
Oh, they are so elusive,
But if you're patient, you'll get an exclusive.
To sit back, breathe and ponder,
And let it just slightly wander,
It is a joy to heart and soul.
You may just see it as it'll unfold.
Floating gracefully, fully engaged,
Colors glistening in summer's gaze.
Delicate wings of gossamer lace,
Easy now, it may land on your face.
Succulent nectar, feeds those wings,
Giving strength, to think of things.
Space, air, food, and shelter,
Or it runs helter-skelter.
Life, to me, is so symbolic
Of a butterfly wanting to frolic.

School
K, and 4 thru 7 I spent, wonderful years in my childhood home, Kaslo BC as it went.. Grades 1-3 in Mica Creek, now under water, so why should I use words or really even bother.
Onwards to Crannie, there I spent 8-12, then one year of college, before I sat by myself.. upon a bus to the big city, I did wander and roam.. another year of college, to heck with this, I started my life out of school.
College
Can't say those two years, did anything but cauliflower ears. Made me determined to find, a job, good paying and divine.. Two marriages, two kids, my perspective has changed.. College was pleasant, at times, memories..

Onwards I did go, as does the show!
Workplace
Not even out of college, I did squander some time, to find a menial job, in a big time firm. At IOL I did work, my way from the mailroom on up, no further could I go.. so after 12 years, got fed up.
2 years at a place, holistic that it is, H.A.N.S. I learned alot about things I believe in, and have changed how I think, I use them extensively now, if I get time for a drink, {kids ya know}.. ;) ;) They are all that matters, in the end I got a tad fatter {not much mind you!} Chasing them, runs it off though, when full circle I've come, learning thru my children, look at what I've become.. A poet and didn't even know it... LMAO..

Military
I don't like the militant type! Now that doesn't mean I don't believe in the military, quite to the contrary, but I don't want to be treated to the bootcamp way of life, shall we say! Free spirit balks authority..
Now, having been through two relationships.. May be working on my third Citizenship?.. small world we live in.
Hoping to get my 'own' roof soon.
Life is grand, or at least the best it can be at present!
