Donna's Story
Life
I have three children ages 31-M, 24-F and 23-M. I am divorced and living in TN. I went back to school in TN from 1999-2000 attending the U of Memphis and was on the deans list. In 2003 I went to Baptist College of Health Sciences for a nursing degree. I came within 2 semesters of earning my bachelors. I am currently at the University of Memphis again and 1 semesters away from my Bachelors in Social work I have mostly been a housewife and worked part time as a supervisor of the block for an auto auction for 9 years while in Calif. I also was a Girl Scout leader in Calif. for 8 years and had a blast. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in March 2006, and my condition has worsened steadily. Sometimes ...Expand for more
I am bedridden for a whole week, due to both pain and Chronic Fatigue. I have tried to get Social Security Disability but was not successful. I will be trying again here shortly. I will be obtaining my bachelors degree in Social Work in December, 2009. My field placement has been at an Memphis Center for Independence an living center (an organization that helps those with disabilities, in particular transitioning nursing home clients to the community, and I think I would like to continue with this type of social work. I am hoping to continue my studies and obtain my masters. My fondest wish is to become a licensed clinical social worker where I can counsel others. Hoping to hear from all my old friends : )
