Donna's Story
I finally settled down after years of moving around!
There were 4 years at Stanford University where I received a Bachelor's degree, double majoring in Biology and Chemistry, followed by 1 year of research in the Department of Pharmacology at Stanford Medical School.
Moved back to Columbus to attend medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and spent 4 years there.
After a medical residency at Loma Linda University, I did a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at the University of California - Irvine. (That's 3 years in Loma Linda, CA, and 3 years in Orange county...in case you're counting)
After completing my training in California, I moved to Portland, Oregon, where I worked for 3 medical groups in 5 years (2 of the groups went bankrupt). I loved Oregon, but with much of my family in northern California, I moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 2001.
Within a week of my moving to CA, my cousin set me up on a blind date with an old friend of his. We were a perfect match for each other, and married one year late...Expand for more
r!
Our daughter was born one year afterwards, and it has been a whirlwind of activities since then. With my full-time Internal Medicine practice, and my husband's solo Optometry office, trying to raise a 5 year old, (and waiting on an adoption to come through from China), we are always on the go!
Before having a family, I used to LOVE working out, and spent at least 2 hours/day at the gym, 5-6 times per week. My priorities were maintaining my physique, and shopping for cute clothes. Now, I spend my free time playing with my daughter, spending quality time with my husband, and shopping for cute clothes for Larissa! (I guess our priorities change...)
My life has been so rich and fulfilling thus far; and I can't wait to see what lies ahead!
I've met incredibly amazing people during all phases of my upbringing and education. If you're someone that I knew either as a friend, an acquaintance, a classmate, or coworker I'd love to hear how you're doing!
