Donna's Story

Life My first husband by whom I have 2 grown sons, passed away. I have been remarried to the most wonderful man who is my Santa Claus & looks like him too, for almost 14 years now. He has 2 grown adopted sons and a beautiful 24 year old daughter whom I have raised since she was 11. We live in West Mobile, & are wondrously happy. My husband is the New Business Estimator for Bender Ship Building & I am a retired legal secretary. Two of our sons are married & I have two step-grand-daughters. One a 16 yr. old red head, and one a 11 yr. old blond. I don't spoil them much. LOL (Oh no, not me. I just love them rotten.) And in October following Hurricane Katrina we finally got a boy. Gabriel blew his horn to announce his very early birth at 3 lbs. 3 oz. He's so fine! My oldest son and his German wife live in Switzerland, and are world travelers. My son is the Senior Business Analyst for Development IT - Account Management Dept. of Novartis Pharma AG Companies in Switzerland. Their complex is a small city. His wife Berna works for Novartis in their Human Resources Dept. His wife came to the US as the Southeast Manager for a major Auditing Firm, specializing in International Taxes. The Lord saved them from 9/11. That is quite a story! My oldest step-son lives in Gallatin, TN, right out of Nashville and trades rare coins and collectables. My step-daughter had worked for an automobile parts production company, then owned a collectables store which her brother helped her run. However, Kari moved back to Mobile in December and now lives with us. She got a job at Bender Shipbuilding where her Dad works and she has made excellent progress there. She is an Auditor for the Human Resources Dept. making sure no one punches in for someone else, everyone has their greencard, no one works off the clock, or takes longer breaks than they are entitled to. They also have to be sure no one works for someone else, so that they do their own shift swapping. She ha...Expand for more
s to cover all shifts so it is a pretty big job and takes going out at weird hours to do surprize audits. She calls the Guards ahead of time & they escort her in and out. My youngest son lives with us too. He works for the Law Firm from which I retired. He is an award winning short story author. He has written for a couple of news papers. He performed the wedding service for my oldest son and his wife's wedding and performed a couple of weddings for friends last summer. One of the most important members of our household is our American Black cat named Precious. She is my protector, and if anyone new makes a move toward me before she has time to be sure they are okay and supposed to be here, she will jump them, fight them and give them quite a bite. However, if you are a friend or family and she knows you, everything is fine, come on in. She is very quiet, & the only person she talks to is my Dad. She thinks she is a human being, and actually sounds like a human being talking to Dad. My baby is my 2 yr. old Maltepoo named Skipper. His mama was 2 lbs., his dad was 4 lbs. & he weighs 16 lbs. He skips all over me on the bed & thinks he weighs 2 lbs. Although the poodle was supposed to be a red tiny toy & he is only 1/32 poodle, I think there is a recessive gene there. He has red mustaches & has so much white fur that he is impossible to keep brushed. Our daughter brought her 5 yr. old Yorkie Chewbakka, home with her, but he and Skipper are such good friends they don't want to be apart so they both end up sleeping in our room. It gets too hot for Skipper in our bed so he ends up under bed or on the tile bathroom floor. Chewy (4 lbs.) hides under the covers. In the mornings they both play hide and seek under the covers while Santa makes me breakfast in bed. We are all very busy living, loving, and enjoying the wonderful lives we have been given. I have so enjoyed connecting with some of you. Please continue to write and call. Love, Me

Santa when he was a baby on his rocking horse.
Bill just had to shave that beard once, but I like my Santa best.
I guess this shows my personality best. I'm big enough to hold a big spiritual heart. (My physical heart is just the right size, thank the Lord.) This was c.1997 when I could still walk.

This is the man who takes such good care of me and the love of my life. Today is not an anniversary really, but 16 years ago we had just met and it was love at first sight for both of us. We spent every free moment together
