Dorothy's Story
Life
In 1997, I moved back to AZ, specifically, Sedona, to live with my Mom. I've been working in the ubiquitus hotels around here since. I tried, once again, working for an attorney for 9 long months and wondered why I'd taken the job. After leaving San Diego (and prior, Phoenix) where I'd worked for a number of attorneys for 15 years, I vowed never to do that again. Hence the hotel employment.
In 2001, I started working for the Postal Service as a clerk. Everything was going along fine until one day, I hurt my back (with the help of my supervisor) and eventually was given disability retirement.
Now I work part-time at Los Abrigados Resort as the PBX operator. I had started there as a front desk clerk prior to working with he PO and had continued in a part-time capacity until my injury. After about a year off, I...Expand for more
went back as the PBX Operator.
The injury has stifled my love of birding. I still do it occasionally, but pay for the activity the next day.
I have also been doing a lot of knitting and chrocheting since those are two activities I can do while resting my back. Lots of my scarves and shawls I sell to friends and co-workers. At least it gives me an outlet for some creativity.
I also started writing a mystery novel, and once I get determined enough, I will finish it!
If I've been abrupt with anyone or seem unwilling to reconnect, please forgive me. Pain can make you inconsiderate and unwilling to have to tell the story again. I'm a bit better now but, at times, I have days that are barely bearable. (Wonder what our Senior Englis teacher would say to that sentence!)
Try again, you might catch me on a good day.
