Doug's Story
Life
Did the University thing, degree in Biology and English. Have worked for the Canadian Forestry Service forever, and retired a couple of years to go. Still live in Victoria. Married twice, 3 kids, now mostly on their own. Re-run batchelor for the last few years. Spend much of my spare time on the water in my home-built sea kayak or paddling dragon boat. Do some huntin' and fishin' and all that manly stuff.
School
Them were the (good?) ol' days were they not? I think I enjoyed most of the high school years, at least I can't think of anything much I would like to have experienced differently. I am certainly glad ...Expand for more
to have done all that before life became as complicated as it is for kids now.
College
As most of you who know me are aware, I did the 6-year batchelor's. What with being calculus challenged and messing around with majors (and anyone else who would mess around), it took a while. I keep in touch with a few folks from those days , and we once in a while get all sentimental about those lost hours in the Elliot Foyer, and the Bacchus Society soirees. I do have to say, however, that I use the skills and such I learned at good ol' UVIC every day in my work, so I must have gotten something worthwhile into me besides the beer.
