After graduation, I went to Johns Hopkins for undergraduate and then on to University of Colorado for medical school. Internship and residency were with the ARMY at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. 10 years in the Army sent me to Germany, back to Tacoma (for sub-specialty fellowship) , back to Denver and over to Saudi Arabia and Iraq for Desert Storm. Eventually I got out of the Army and thought I was settled in Denver, but old Army friends called and I ended up at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Stayed in academics for 6 years until I realized I liked seeing patients too much, so I went into private practice at Central Baptist Hospital also in Lexington.
