School
The teacher who influenced me most was Kay Lagerquist, of all people. She grated on me some, but she was a good College Prep Composition teacher. What I learned in that one class helped me survive college English and eventually inspired me to think that I could actually be an editor. Fond memories include Cross Country, the first-ever High School Motocross race at Puyallup, riding in Marc Pond's fire-breathing Olds coupe to Golden Gardens and being one of the three or four "survivors" to tough it all the way thru Calculus.
College

ally came out of my shell there (and met my wonderful wife). Pullman was cool, if a bit sleepy by today's standards (if you believe that's possible). I think I got to where I clicked with the regular townspeople better than I did the University crowd by the time I graduated. Fond memories include: somehow acing my Calculus final with a hangover, dorm life on 9th Floor Rogers Hall; dating Kathy; and getting blackballed from the Fine Arts Department because of a scathing critique I wrote about some of the faculty.
Workplace
Well, I've worked for one employer (Spokane School District) for 29 years now; first as a graphic artist in the Print Shop for 10 years and then for KSPS Public Television (owned by the District) for the duration, first as art director and then editor of our monthly program guide. High school and college jobs included: twisting wrenches for Harry Dorsten at SuzukiLand (motorcycle shop) in Lynnwood; working in Louie's custom auto upholstery shop; grunt labor at Glenn's Welding; and lot boy at a Pullman car dealer.
