Life
Environmental Intelligence Inc., a management systems consultancy with international operations based in Minnesota since incorporation in 2001, sustains a reputation for leading organizations in government, industry and agriculture by providing assessment and consulting services on the optimal use of voluntary, strategic approaches to management of business and organizations through the design, implementation and maintenance of integrated, standards-based management systems. Environmental Intelligence Inc. was awarded a $3 million, five-year GSA Schedule 874 contract (GS10F-0354P) on 3 June 2004. Recent clients of Environmental Intelligence Inc. include the U.S. Army Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM), the State of Wisconsin, Iowa Soybean Association and other clients in agribusiness.
Dr. Johnson is founder and President of Environmental Intelligence Inc. He is a registered RABQSA ISO 14001 EMS Auditor, with demonstrated experience managing the design and implementation of strategic quality and environmental management systems in industry and agriculture. Dr. Johnson provides clients with management expertise on the strategic use of integrated management systems so that the highest internal and external value can be realized.
Dr. Johnson has also served as Senior Research Associate specializing in commercialization of environmental technologies for the Alameda Center for Environmental Technologies, a small business incubator where he managed strategic projects on behalf of resident entrepreneurial companies seeking to commercialize emerging technologies, many of which evolved from...Expand for more
federal laboratories. While serving in his capacities in Alameda, Dr. Johnson held a joint appointment at California State University at Hayward, where he taught Strategic Environmental Management and Management of Technology and Innovation. Dr. Johnson provides clients with management expertise critical to the effective commercialization of emerging environmental technologies.
Like many of his peers, Dr. Johnson is grounded in the scientific principles and regulatory requirements germane to air quality, water quality, hazardous materials, permitting, regulatory compliance and enforcement. As an environmental consultant to many of the worlds largest companies, he has managed complex projects that require the coordination of resources to complete permitting, engineering, site development, construction and operation for a range of clients including Chevron, BP, Diamond Shamrock and others. He was instrumental in leading the development and application of new technologies to the recovery of subsurface contaminants in the oil and petrochemical industry.
Dr. Johnson is actively engaged in policy work with federal, state and international governmental and non-governmental organizations seeking innovations in environmental policy and new regulatory approaches to foster improvements in environmental performance and facility security. Dr. Johnson is a past-Member of the Board of the Multi-State Working Group (MSWG) on Environmental Performance, and in that capacity, led and facilitated the yearlong process of planning, preparation and conduct of the groups first post 9/11 National Workshop.
