Douglas's Story
As of 2 Aug 2023:
Married with eight children, and two grandchildren. and living in South Korea.
I have lived and visited at least 20 countries since leaving Duncan Poly and my major hobby is studying foreign languages, history, and culture, which makes travel all the more enjoyable.
School
The teachers who have inspired me the most were Mr. Parks from Duncan Poly Tech High School and Fresno City College. Also the late Dr. Doolin who was my Chinese history teacher at the University of Maryland. Too bad we can't go back with the knowledge we've gained over time.

s.
Currently I self-study and am taking 2 hrs a week of private advanced Korean lessons.
Employment
I started working early as a janator for a couple months. Then I moved up to helping a girlfriends dad with his handyman service. I also worked a few years with Little Caesers Pizza and delivering the Fresno Bee to over 100 machines. At 18 I enlisted in the USAF where I remained until retirement in 2019 working at management and headquarters level the final eight years. Before I retired I started working for FedEx Express and was promoted to Ramp Agent. I continued that in addition to being a military instructor during the day. I quit FedEx to focus on a physically less demanding occupation to be laid off during the pandemic. I went back to school full time and landed my current job, where I work as a War Planner and Postal Operations Officer assigned to Korea.
Military
The military for me was a worth while experience. I have mostly enjoyed the opportunities to travel and see the world. It allowed me to meet my wife and provided the means to grow as an individual .
