Douglas's Story
Life
After High School I attended the University of Washington, earning a BA Degree in Business Administration in 1967. From there I went on to Law School at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. My law school career was interupted in 1968 when I was drafted into the Army and was sent over to Vietnam for 16 months, serving as a combat infantry soldier assigned to a helicopter unit with the 101st Airborne Divison. I returned to Law School and earned a J.D. Law Degree in 1972. I worked for a downtown Seattle law firm as a business attorney from 1972 until I parted ways in 1995 out of disillusionment with the practice of law. Since then I have practiced law part-time from my home. I enjoy my semi-retirement. I've been married twice for short stints with no children. My time is spent managing my investments and engaging in hobbies or whatever interests me at the time. I recently concluded I am alcoholic and I'm presently active in AA and enjoying my new found joy and happiness recovering in sobriety. I live in West Seattle and have a waterfront getaway cabin on Vashon Island. Why do I have to become a "Gold Member" and pay money to view other classmates' profiles/bios? What a rip-off this site is. Money Rules!
School
I was shy and somewhat withdrawn. I wish I would have been more outgoing, socialized more and participated in more activities. I had a very close-knit group of friends. We did some very crazy outlandish things ...Expand for more
during my Junior and Senior years that usually were fueled by alcohol. But there were some very meaningful experiences with my close friends that I will never forget. I can hardly imagine those days were so carefree and lacked the responsibility that pervades my adult years. Let me do it all over again.

Workplace
In October 1972 I joined the Seattle law firm of Aiken, St. Louis & Siljeg in the Norton Building as an associate attorney. In 1976 I was named a partner in the firm. I practiced general civil and business law with the firm continuously until 1995 when I parted ways due to burn-out and disillusionment. I have continued to practice law on a part-time basis from my home since then. I am now essentially semi-retired.
