Douglas's Story
Graduated TDHS in 1969.
Went to MJC 1969-1971.
UC Berkeley 1971-1973 - AB in Computer Science. Attended grad school at UCB in Political Science for 1 year.
Worked for McDonnell-Douglas from 1974 - 1977. Met and married my wife, Patricia (Roberts) Ruby in 1977 while working in St. Louis. I left Mc-Donnell-Douglas in 1977 to work for Digital Equipment Corporation as a field systems engineer.
Daughter Michelle was born in 1980. In 1980, we moved from Long Beach, CA to Groton, Massachusetts (where we still live). Son Greg was born in 1983. I worked for Digital thru 1983 then began a string of 4 local area networking and internetworking startup compa...Expand for more
nies over the next 17 years. These included InterLAN, Chipcom, Whitetree, and Prominet. The last company was acquired by Lucent Technologies in 1998. I retired from Lucent/Avaya in 2000 as a VP of Product Marketing after having a heart attack.
After 1.5 years of cardiac rehab, I entred grad scchool at UMass Lowell to get my M.Ed. in teaching of secondary math. I have been a high school math teacher for the last 5 years and thoroughly enjoy it.
Pat and I are still happily married after 32 years. I still am a musician, performing regularly in the Boston area and in England on euphonium. I even performed my first full recital this year.
