Life Retired US Air Force and NM Air National Guard. In Oct 1997 I experienced a near amputation and severe crush of my left upper forearm while recovering an F-16 fighter. I was literally trapped in the space of 1/2" between the trailing edge flaperon (flight control) and the fuselage for about 35 minutes. After many reconstructive surgeries and 6 months of hand therapy I was and am able to use my hand, although it is 49% impaired. Quite a bit of nerve damage. I worked until 2001 when I was put on disability and that is when I tried selling real estate until re-employed in 2006 by th Dept of the Army. A few tough years they were. God is good, all the time! Remployed by the Department of the Army working Human Resources at the Belen New Mexico Armory HHC 1-200 Infantry; trying to make up lost time for civilian retirement. Not selling Residential and Commercial Real Estate in Albuquqerque in spare time. Married Audrey 42 years ago . 3 sons, Michael, Jeff, Steve; 5 grandchildren. Michael is career Navy living in Chesapeake, VA; Jeff works in the Indian Gaming business(Santa Anna Casino) in Bernalillo; Steve lives in Los Lunas and works at L-3-Com an Aerospace Communications Firm in Albuquerque married to Melody (Chavez) and has a son and daughter. Mike is married to Kim they have a son and Jeff has 2 sons. Audrey and I sing in a Senior Adult Gospel Choir. 127 of us, average age of 72, oldest member Newell Crego 97, 18 different church denominations represented-we travel extensively throughout the US and have recorded 7 CD's.
